English Premier League
The Premier League is one of the most productive leagues in Europe. Teams play fast football, very rarely meetings end without goals or with a minimum score on the scoreboard. Let's take a look at the statistics on the scores in this league for the full 2018/2019 season (380 matches) and 29 rounds of the 2019/2020 season (290 matches).
In the columns under the score, first the number of matches that have ended with such a score is shown, below is the percentage of such matches from the total in the season.
0: 0 | 1: 0 | 1: 1 | 2: 1 | 2: 2 | 2: 0 | 3: 0 | 3: 1 | 3: 2 | 4: 0

- It is extremely rare to find a 0: 0 score – on average, about 4.5% of matches. Betting on the absence of goals in the Premier League is a hopeless occupation;
- The most popular scores are by a wide margin – 2: 0 and 2: 1 (on average, about 15 and 16% of matches, respectively, ended in the reviewed seasons with such a score);
- The largest scores, noted at the end of these seasons – 5: 3 and 6: 2 (1 time in 18/19) and 8: 0 from 9: 0 (1 time in the 19/20 season);
- About 17% of matches in the 2018/2019 season ended with an especially large score (all except those indicated in the table).
Serie A
Italian football has been grassroots in the past, with many teams promoting defensive play. However, in recent years, the championship has become more and more productive: the arrival of great masters, and an increase in the teams' budgets, and the introduction of the VAR referee assistance system contributed to this. Let's see what scores are most common in this league in the last two seasons (380 games in 18/19 and 260 games in 19/20).
0: 0 | 1: 0 | 1: 1 | 2: 1 | 2: 2 | 2: 0 | 3: 0 | 3: 1 | 3: 2 | 4: 0

Interesting patterns from analysis of Serie A in seasons 18-20:
- Quite often, the score is 0: 0 (on average, 7.3% of matches over 2 seasons);
- The most popular scores are 1: 0 (on average 15.6% of matches) and 2: 1 (19.5% of matches);
- The most dashing team in the league for 2 seasons is Atalanta. In matches with her participation, over-large scores were recorded more often than others: 7: 0, 7: 1, 7: 2, etc.
Spanish Primera
The Spanish Championship is considered one of the two strongest European championships. And if you look at the table of UEFA coefficients, then the local La Liga is completely ahead of the rest of the world by a wide margin from the pursuers. For a long time, the most powerful football players in the world played in the Spanish championship: Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar. Let's see that with the accounts in La Liga.
0: 0 | 1: 0 | 1: 1 | 2: 1 | 2: 2 | 2: 0 | 3: 0 | 3: 1 | 3: 2 | 4: 0
2018/19 | 27 | 71 | 47 | 58 | 26 | 51 | 21 | eighteen | 16 | 5 |
% | 7.11 | 18.68 | 12.37 | 15.27 | 6.84 | 13.42 | 5.52 | 4.74 | 4.21 | 1.32 |
2019/20 | 23 | 46 | 36 | 47 | eleven | 36 | eighteen | fourteen | eight | 3 |

The performance of the Spanish Example turned out to be about the level of Serie A. Here, the score 0: 0 is also quite common (about 7.8% of matches), and the most popular scores are 1: 0 (in 18% of games) and 2: 1 (in 16.3% of matches) …
German Bundesliga
The German Championship is a very productive league. Only a few teams play defensively and know how to defend very well, for others it is not a problem to concede 1-2 goals in each match, because they can score 2-5 goals. Such teams as “Bavaria”, “Borussia”, “Leipzig” stand out especially. Let's take a look at the distribution of accounts in the Bundesliga.
0: 0 | 1: 0 | 1: 1 | 2: 1 | 2: 2 | 2: 0 | 3: 0 | 3: 1 | 3: 2 | 4: 0
2018/19 | 15 | 28 | 36 | 41 | 13 | thirty | 27 | 33 | 12 | eight |
% | 4.9 | 9.15 | 11.76 | 13.4 | 4.25 | 9.8 | 8.82 | 10.78 | 3.92 | 2.61 |
2019/20 | nine | 19 | 23 | 40 | 12 | 21 | eighteen | twenty | 13 | 13 |
% | 4 | 8.44 | 10.22 | 17.78 | 5.33 | 9.33 | eight | 8.89 | 5.78 | 5.78 |
The minimum number of matches without goals is immediately striking – only 4-5% of games in previous seasons ended with a score of 0: 0. The most popular scores in this league are 1: 1 and 2: 1 (11 and 15.1% respectively). Also in the Bundesliga, a lot of matches compared to the rest of the top leagues ended with big scores and high totals: 22.2% and 16.4%, respectively, in the 18/19 and 19/20 seasons. In many ways, the giants have tried hard: Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, Leipzig, for which sometimes it is not a problem to score 4-6 goals per match.
Russian Premier League
The Russian Championship is one of the lowest leagues in Europe. The scores 0: 0, 1: 0 are very frequent in this league, and, conversely, big results of matches like 4: 2 and higher happen very rarely. Let's see what accounts are most often recorded in this league.
0: 0 | 1: 0 | 1: 1 | 2: 1 | 2: 2 | 2: 0 | 3: 0 | 3: 1 | 3: 2 | 4: 0
2018/19 | 21 | 55 | 35 | 38 | ten | 27 | 15 | eleven | 5 | eight |
% | 8.75 | 22.92 | 14.58 | 15.83 | 4.17 | 11.25 | 6.25 | 4.58 | 2.08 | 3.33 |
2019/20 | 19 | 31 | 24 | 33 | 4 | 23 | eleven | eight | 12 | 2 |
% | 10.8 | 17.61 | 13.64 | 18.75 | 2.27 | 13.07 | 6.25 | 4.54 | 6.82 | 1.14 |
As you can see from the table, approximately every tenth match in the RPL ends with a score of 0: 0, which is very common. Also, a lot of matches end with a 1: 0 score – 22.9% in the 2018/2019 season and 17.6% in the 2019/2020 season. And all accounts, starting from 3: 0 and larger, are already very rare and go in decreasing order. Only 5-6% of RPL matches in the seasons under review ended with particularly large scores (4: 1 or more). This is due to the fact that the league is grassroots, very even, most teams play defensively, there are few strong forwards in the league. Also, RPLs do not have the highest speeds. All this leads to the fact that the Russian championship is among the lowest leagues in Europe.
In the league, only a couple of teams play attacking football: Zenit, Ural and Rostov. The rest of the squads tend to play defensively, often playing very grassroots matches.
Conclusion
These statistics help you track which accounts are the most popular in specific leagues by season. The numbers change every season, this statistic is relevant only for a particular season. Through lengthy and scrupulous calculations, we found out that the lowest league of the considered is the RPL: there are most of the scores 0: 0 and 1: 0, and large accounts like 4: 1, 3: 3 and higher are very rare. In Germany and England, on the contrary, there are a minimum of grassroots matches, the final results of meetings with a total of 3-4 goals are more popular. Well, the championships of Examples and Serie A occupy an intermediate place: they are quite productive, but a considerable percentage of grassroots matches.
We hope that these statistics and analytics will be useful to fans of betting on accurate scores and total matches.
